An extract system for a road grooving cutting wheel (1) has suction inlets (2) in front of and behind the wheel, with the trailing inlet collecting dust from the groove. The ducts (3, 6) feed into a cyclone separator (5) which removes the coarse articles to fall into a collecting bin (4) from where they are removed via an access hatch (11). The fine particles are removed by passing over three fine filters (8) which reduce the air speed and allow the dust to settle. The system is powered by extract fans (10) on the outlet side of the fine filter housing (9).
