The hearth of the fire and throat of the chimney are combined in a spherical bowl mounted above the floor on posts. The bown has two elliptical side air intaks and the chimney pipe connecting to it is flexible stainless steel tubing. The pipe is shrouded by fibrous concrete sleeves which have a truncated square based pyramid shape and interlock with their narrow ends resting inside the wide ends of the sleeve above. The sleeves are suspended from each other by chains, the top sleeve being firmly fixed to the ceiling.
