Flexible plastic pipe for marine oil exploration - is reinforced axially and circumferentially with high and low strength fibres

A plastic tube is reinforced with fibre layers to produce reinforcement in both the axial and circumferential directions. High strength fibres extend e.g. in the form of a tight helical winding along the tube to provide circumferential reinforcement. Th e pipe is strong and corrosion resistant. Pref. two helical winds of high strength fibres are embedded in the wall of the tube. Pref. a widing of low strength fibres. Pref. a winding of low strength fibres is provided radially inwardly of the inner winding of high strength fibres and radially outwardly of the outer winding of high strength fibres.
