The telescopic panel may be deployed as a window blind or screen, and comprises several identical parallel blades of 'L' section. One flange of each 'L' section lies in the major screen plane; and each blade slides telescopically into its neighbour to obtain blind retraction. In the case of a window blind the blades (1) may be of inverted 'L' section with the horizontal flanges decreasing in width in a linear relationship from top to bottom blade. The blades thus slide into one another under purely vertical displacements, and the horizontally laminated face of the extended blind inclines from top to bottom towards the ribbed face. The lateral blind edges may run in channels (6); a pulley (5)-cable (4) winding system be deployed; a rectangular hollow section (3) lead the descent; round rails (2) form vertical guides; and thread (7) with stops form blade spacing.
