The system determines the time taken for a moving body (2) to reach a given final speed independently of its inertia. The device is applicable to all moving bodies whose speed control is directly or indirectly linked to the characteristics of an electric current. The device includes a tachometer (4) which emits a current where voltage varies in proportion to the real increase/decrease of the bodies speed. It has a ramp generator (19) which produces a current which varies proportionally with time and whose ramp slope corresponds to the desired speed modification. A voltage comparator (9) is situated at the output of the tacheometer and ramp generator (19). This comparator (9) produces a voltage proportional to the voltage difference at its input, and therefore proportional to the error between the real variation and that required.
