The polynomial waveform generator, for plotting trajectories, consists of a chain of series-coupled digital integrators whose number is equal to the order of the polynomial required. Each integrator consists of an adder (Sk) that adds the output of the preceeding integrator to the output of a first memory (M1). The first memory (M1) stores the output of the adder and its own output is also multiplied (Mk) with the contents of a register (R). Since all the integrating processes take place in parallel the time between successive increases to the polynomial at the output of the last stage is simple equal to the time required by any stage to integrate its input. The polynomial is therefore generated very rapidly.
