The expanding bracelet for wristwatches, is a simplified form of the type having two superimposed layers of hollow links (10, 11) with each link aligning transverse to bracelet length, each link of one strata staggered w.r.t. those of the other, upper links (10) of a trapezoidal cross section, and lower links (11) of a rectangular cross section. The longer of the outer links parallel sides (10a) is external, its inclined sides terminate in an upper length (10b) which is normal to the external side, and the inner links are of a lesser width (dimension parallel with bracelet length) than outer links giving a significant longitudinal gap between inner links when the bracelet is in its retracted state.
