Demountable blade bits for bulldozer blade - interlock with bit support via tongue and grooving, and are fixed by indented bolts with rubber keys

The demountable blade and corner blade bits are for mounting on the active edge of a bulldozer blade. The blade bits are fixed in position by a combination of bit to bit-support housings and serrated bolts with rubber keys. A hammer and drift rod only are required to remove the bolts whence the bit is free. The haunch of the bit (1) may have a square section tongue which is housed in a bit-support groove (8) of similar section, and the head of the bit-support plate (3) may be similarly housed in a bit groove (9). Vertical bit ribs (10) may also engage bit-support grooves to provide lateral interlock. The bolts (4) may hav serrations on the leading sector (5) of the barrel, and the rubber keys (6) locate in the support (3) bolt holes (7).
