The machine tool consists of a rotating chuck carrying the workpiece. Two independent turrets run on slides parallel to the axis of the workpiece. The first turret carries a cross-slide on which is mounted an indexing head carrying various cutting tools. The second turret carries a tailstock support mounted in a hydraulically operated ram which allows the tailstock to move independently of its turret. For centering and end drilling the second turret can be rotated through 180 degrees allowing the drill holder to be used on the workpiece.
