Paper sheet direction altering mechanism - has box from which sheet is driven out in opposite direction using directed air currents (NL 12.9.77)

The directional guidance mechanism alters the travel direction of sheets of paper etc. It has a box (9) into which the sheet, travelling in a first direction (40) is guided. An air current is generated inside the box, driving the sheet out in the opposite direction. A suction device can also be provided in the box, drawing an edge of the sheet against the rear wall as it moves in the first direction by means of a second current. The two currents can be arranged to function alternately for controlled periods. A third current can be provided, driving the sheet against a narrow sidewall of the box as it moves in the second direction.
