Measurement of doses of liquid medicine - employs piston sliding in tube with graduated shaft indicating dosage

A piston in a tube is used to extract particular doses of liquid medical product from a bottle. This replaces the imprecise method of counting drops for regular daily dosage of a patient. A doser comprises a cylindrical body (1) which has an outlet (3) at the lower end (2). An opening (6) in the upper end of the body allows a piston (7) on a shaft (8) to traverse the cylinder bore (4). A collar (9) on the shaft end has flats (12, 13) facilitating grip by fingers and thumb in conjunction with a collar (11) on the top of the cylinder. Graduations (10) on the shaft enable the dose to be observed.
