1466582 Foresight FRANCE ARMED FORCES MINISTER OF 29 May 1974 [1 June 1973] 23866/74 Heading F3C A foresight for a firearm, has a portion 3, Fig. 2, which serves as a sight element and is carried by a support 5, and has a light-emitting plug 4 which is mounted in a member 9, the latter being slidable on a flange 8, Fig. 4, of the support 5. Means 19, Figs. 2 and 3, are provided to improve the visibility of the sight element. When the foresight is mounted on a firearm, the plug 4, being positioned forward, provides a luminous background so that the foresight is silhouetted for night-time use. The plug 4 is moved from the location shown by full lines in Fig. 2 to the location shown by dash-dot lines when the foresight is being used during daylight. In a modification, (not shown), the slidable member 9 is replaced by a pivotable member.
