1487258 Polyimides CIBA-GEIGY AG 24 Dec 1974 [26 Dec 1973] 55834/74 Heading C3R A curable composition comprises (a) a compound of one of the following average formulµ and (b) 1 to 10 mole equivalents of a bis-dienophile of one of the formulµ In the formulµ at least 5% of the Z groups are -N=CR 1 -CR 2 =CR 3 R 4 and the remainder NH 2 ; n is 0 or a number up to 20; R 1 to R 4 are H or monovalent organic radicals; R 5 and R, are C 2-30 divalent organic radicals; R 6 is a tetravalent organic radical; m is 1 to 20; and D is an olefinic radical wherein R 16 is H, CH 3 , Br or Cl; R 17 is H, Br or Cl; YSP1/SP to YSP6/SP are H, Br, Cl, NO 2 , C 6 H 5 or C 1-6 alkyl; and X is CO, O, S, Cl- or Br-substituted CH 2 , C 1-6 alkylidene or benzylidene. The compositions are processable by conventional plastics processing techniques at relatively low temperatures and are useful as moulding powders, laminating resin, adhesives, coatings and monofilament windings.
