For the teaching method, the pupil has to give an answer to a question where the reply is checked by the teacher when the correct answer is given. The appts. consists of cards, tables, a bridge and code cards. There are series problems with the instrument. The problems will determine which answers the pupil has to give with the cards. A card is an object consisting of a plate, sphere, tube, beam, cube, each with or without a symbol. The instrument has a stack of tables with closed compartments in which the cards will fit with particular answers. There are also open compartments which will allow the teacher to produce the correct answer close to the cards of the pupil.
