High adhesive mixts are based on (A) a rubbery copolymer of ethylene, at least one other alpha-olefin and one or more polyenes, and contg. C=C bonds in the non-linear part of the chain, whose carbon atoms either (a) contain two hydrocarbon gps in the vicinal cis-configuration to each other and which are not components of the same cyclic system, or (b) contain at least three hydrocarbon gps. (B) a tackifying resin and (C) opt. other additives, and exposing the compsn. to a light source with a wave length of 200-800 nm in the presence of oxygen and a sensitizer, the ixt. in the unvulcanised state having an elongation at break of at least 500% and a tensile strength of 1.5-50 kg/cm2. The prods have excellent and constant adhesive power and are useful in the prodn. of composite articles requiring good adhesion between layers during building up and vulcanisation, eg driving belts, conveyor belts and motor tyres.
