The circulating pump circulates the liquid in an upwards and downwards motion. The pump consists of a duct fixed to the tank and open at both ends, or closed at the top and open at the bottom. The top end is positioned below or above the water-level, and the bottom end near the bottom of the tank. A suction collector is positioned below the water-level and consists of a perforated tube positioned horizontally, midway between the water-level and the tank bottom. A fan mounted on a shaft coaxial to the duct is operated by a motor outside the tank, and is situated between the suction-collector and the bottom of the tank.
