The stretcher canvas is to be easily detachable from the stretcher frame, which itself is to be either detachable from the lifting arm, or hinged to it, so that it can be turned to a vertical position. The arm pref. turns the stretcher through 180 deg. in passing it through the opening. - Raising the stretcher on the lifting arm pref. also raises the sliding shutter from the opening the stretcher is to pass through. This may be done by connecting the shutter to the lifting arm, either with a lever or by a system of cords and pulleys. The wall may form one boundary of a medical treatment.
