The equipment consists of a mobile chassis (5/1) supporting a gallows-type arm (5/2) from which a suspension frame (5/4) may be hung. The frame supports a suspended flexible stretcher (5/5) which has a longitudinal central hinge or fold line. The stretcher is positioned partly-open adjacent to a patient resting on his/her side. The patient is moved to rest on his/her other side and the stretcher is fully opened. The chassis may then be moved to bring the suspension frame over the patient and stretcher. ADVANTAGE - Reduced effort required for lifting, with improved comfort for patient.
