Amplifier for CW system for GHZ band - has mixer for intermediate frequency and further mixers for second intermediate frequency

The amplifier, for the gigahertz band of a carrier wave communications system, has the incoming signal (consisting of two or more carriers) passed to a first mixer (M1) for converting into a first intermediate frequency (IF) signal. This IF signal is amplified and then split into its two or more carrier waves. - The first carrier is mixed in a second mixer (M2) with a second frequency and then BP filtered. The second carrier is mixed in a third mixer (M3) with a third frequency and then BP filtered. The outputs of the second and third mixers are IF signals of the same frequency. All three mixing frequencies are derived from the same oscillator (G).
