The clamp is intended for tension-resistant connection of an electric conductor and its clamping channel for the wire has boundary surfaces with transverse toothing, at least over part of its clamping region. The teeth (7', 7") are of different height and are so arranged that between two adjacent teeth (7") of greater height are provided several teeth (7') of smaller height. Preferably the higher teeth are provided only over the middle section of the clamping channels, which forms approximately three quarters of the entire length. The smaller teeth may reach up to 50% of the higher ones. Five to eight lower teeth may be provided between two higher ones.
