The body has a base plate (2) and a number of coil teeth (4) that are spaced from each other in circumferential direction and are wrapped by a coil (3), where the teeth have teeth base areas respectively. The teeth are connected with the base plate by a polyamide or epoxy resin adhesive joint. The teeth are formed as individual units that are independent of each other and are not coupled with each other, where the units have a specified gap distance (7) to the respective adjacent teeth between a tooth base (5) and a tooth head (6) over the entire teeth length in the circumferential direction. An independent claim is also included for a method of manufacturing a coil body for an electrical machine.
