Planetary roller feeder for consumable welding wire - where rollers are mounted on pivot arms actuated by conical pressure ring

The axes of the rollers form an angle with the wire axis and the rollers are located in pivot arms mounted on a rotating bush, the arms being moved by the pressure unit. A motor drives the rollers round the wire axis. The pressure unit is fixed on the drive shaft of the motor and connected to the bush by torque transmitter. The torque transmitter is pref. a screw-thread joint, where the pressure unit is a hub fixed on the drive shaft; one end of the hub has a male thread mating with a female thread in the bush to transmit torque; and a conical pressure ring is free to rotate on the other end of the hub, and moves the pivot arms, pressing the rollers against the wire. Simple construction, and the centrifugal forces created by rotation of the rollers can not move the rollers away from the welding wire.
