Parent patent continuously operating baby press or finishing press for mfr. of chipboards or fibre boards has 2, superposed endless platform conveyors running about horizontal and parallel polygonal rollers. The transverse edges of the plates composing the conveyors have cutouts and projections. One or both conveyors is driven by adjustable press. rollers; both conveyors being surrounded by an endless steel band. The cutouts and projections are trapezium-shaped or triangular, each cutout and projection being rimmed at its base and free end, respectively. In this addn, those surfaces of the plates facing the press. rollers are provided with grooves at least in their central regions. Warping and deformation of the boards being mfd. is minimised without increasing their thickness e.g. by application of protective sheets.
