The additive (I) comprises a mixt. of a pref. sterilised extract (II) of the rumen contents of ruminants and blood plasma of domestic animals esp. cows, sheep, pigs. The additive is used in raising domestic animals e.g. calves, sheep and pigs. to maintain the normal bacterial proportions in the digestive track. Allows far greater economy in raising animals; after 12 months the Lacobacillus phase is stable and can be stimulated, whereas the effectiveness of Colibacterium is very much inhibited. Stabilisation of Lactobacillus results in an effectiveness opposite to that of usual antibiotics. (I) pref. contains 50% each of (II) and blood plasma. The blood plasma is pref. deproteinised.
