摘要
A sensor is pressed against the skin near a blood vessel and responds to mechanical deformation by a change in an electrical property. The sensor may consists of a strain gauge, or a semiconductor element which reacts by a change in electrical resistance, and is pref. mounted on a rubber-like carrier diaphragm with a rigid support which is slidable towards the skin in an abutment device applied to the body. In a region facing towards the body, between the diaphragm and support, may be a recess which is impinged upon by gas at varying pressure, with a rubber-like balloon contg. the gas mounted in the recess. The pulse can be measured rapidly and precisely, without being affected by subjective influences.
