In the direction of light beams coming from the object there is an objective which makes the incident divergent beam parallel. Behind the objective there is an optical beam splitter which has two reflecting faces. It halves the parallel beam and separates the part beams. For each part beam there is a further reflecting face which steers the part beam into the appropriate binocular telescope tube. The tripod is connected elastically to the binocular instrument and it can have a fixed distance to the objective, the spacing of the individual tubes of the instrument being variable.
