Capacitive IC engine ignition - has inductive element with nonlinear characteristic in discharge circuit of storage capacitor

The high voltage capacitive ignition circuit provides a long duration spark. It ensures reliable ignition under all operating conditions. An inductive component with non-linear characteristics, concerning the magnetic field strength and the magnetic inductivity is incorporated in the discharge circuit of the storage capacitor. Preferably the storage capacitor is isolated from the ignition circuit, when the spark is stricken. The storage capacitor may be short circuited to bring about its discharge under such conditions. The ignition circuit design results in reduced fuel consumption and exhaust pollution.
