Error detection system for A:D convertor - compares digital signals corresponding to standard analogue signals with corresponding standard digital signals

The A/D convertor operates on the iterative principle. Certain analogue signals are applied to the analogue-digital convertor, and its output digital signals are compared with specified digital signals. Digital signals corresponding to the coding characteristic points to be tested are stored and applied to the input of a calibrated digital-analogue convertor. Analogue signals appearing at the calibrated digital-analogue convertor output are applied to the analogue input of the analogue-digital convertor to be tested, and digital signals appearing at its output are compared with the stored specified digital signals by a digital comparator. An error signal is delivered when the difference exceeds a specified value.
