Flexible plastic insulation for liquid gas tank - with two plastic films and intermediate pressure-transmitting plastic insulation

Flexible plastic insulation for tank for transporting liquified gas comprises two plastic films, and an intermediate pressure-transmitting cold-resistant plastic insulating core, joined together by plastic fasteners. The insulating core has a compsn. of plastic, glass and wood, and is constructed in panels so that only small gaps occur in case of deformation due to low temps., and these are bridged by the films. The insulation allows more economical construction of tanks, with respect to both the materials used and the mfg. costs. The assembly allows transport of liquefied gases at as low as -70 degrees C in tanks of normal-strength steel.
