The structure assembly system has tubular components fitting together at the ends and comprising a metal insert with a fixed or sliding plastic cladding, also plastic nodal components with fixed metal inserts if desired. The coupling ends of the nodal components can be set to any desired angle to give accurate butt joints to other components. The coupling ends (3, 6) are tapped to form screw connections, and at the ends of the tubular components (2) the tapped portions are joined to the metal inserts (8). The tubular and/or the nodal components (1, 2) and/or the screw connections each have one or more distorting portions (7) to allow angular adjustment.
