The two half rings (1, 2) from which the disc is made up are placed together. Two cut outs (4, 5) are milled in the faces of the half rings, so that two slots are formed, in which connector strips (3) can be mounted. The connector strips are fixed in one of the half rings by screws (14) and a split sleeve (15) with conical pin (17). The other ends of the connecting strips are fixed in the other ring half by a centring piece (6) to which a conical piece (8) is connected by a screw. The conical piece engages with a conical hole in the connecting strip. This ensures that the connection between the two rings is self centring and is quickly made. Expansion due to heat is taken up by the ring without transmitting it to the cutter ring mounting.
