An astable multivibrator system is designed to operate reliably at very low voltages, of the order of 1V. It has four transistors. A capacitor (25) can be charged and discharged from the output voltages of current sources controlled by the multivibrator output through a pair of complementary transistors; the junction of the power sources (15, 16) is connected to the capacitor to control a transistor switch (20, 21) the alternate settings of which produce two alternate output voltages. The power sources may consist of a pair of complementary transistors (15,16).
