The bimetallic thermally influenced switch has three flexible units each connected with a contact so that changes in temperature of the plate move each contact in turn, and disconnect or reconnect the power lines to the resistor elements. The bimetallic units are mounted beneath the surface of a flat top boiling plate. Connections are also made through a flexible link (14) to an indicator lamp (19) mounted in a separate assembly. A ceramic body (4) is used to insulate the heater elements from the boiling plate.
