Conveyer for web materials such as textile plies for tyres paper or film webs, has a cutting station forming part of the path of conveyance, esp. for cutting into pieces of pre-determined length of tyre plies, and conveying them to a tyre build-up machine. The conveyor features an intermediate conveyer looping about the fixed base of the cutting station. The intermediate conveyer consists of 2 spaced, parallel, and endless chains which pass over drive and diverting rollers upstream and downstream of the base and also over a further diverting roller. Transverse supporting elements connect the chains, which extend above the base and can be moved over it in machine direction.
