The electromagnetic circuit breaker tripping system consists of a transformer with at least one primary winding and one secondary winding. The latter feeds the coil of the magnetic trip proper. The transformer has tertiary winding connected to an impedance. Preferably the transformer has two to four primary windings. The impedance connected to the tertiary winding may consist of two anti-parallel diodes, or two Zener diodes in series opposition. A linear resistor may be also used for this purpose. Further it also possible to use a capacitor as the impedance.
