The electrical fuse has a detonating bridging wire enclosed within the explosive charge. The bridging wire is connected between two electrodes. The effective part generates on initiation shock waves in transverse direction for initiating the explosive charge. The effective part of the bridging wire (4) has geometrical shape such that the shock waves originating from different point of this component converge and they cause initiation in the region (C) at which these shock waves meet. The effective part of the bridging wire (4) is V shaped, or alternatively it may be curved in a circular arc.
