The explosive charge intended to produce a cutting or dividing effect is symmetrical in shape and has a main charge (1) connected at two points (4a,b) to respective detonating charges (5a,b) along the top. The main charge is rectangular, supported by a sloping sided metal strip (3) which fits into a hollow V shaped space along the underside. The two detonating charges are attached to the top two corners, extending from front to rear, with two detonating lines (7a,b) attached, which join at a common initiating point (8). In another design the main charge carries an explosive plate connected at the front to two connections of an intermediate charge with a single connection at its other end.
