The neck frame is a U-shaped strap whose shanks, which can be adjusted to change the frame width, consist of two hinged sections. The shanks are suspended on a top cross support of a frame set up in frono of the manager. The cross support (4) is in the form of a horizontal guide rail for slide bearings (5, 5a) connected with the free ends of the shanks (8, 8a). The slide bearings are connected with a tensioning device which acts towards the centre of the transverse support. The slide bearings can pivot about the longitudinal axis of the cross support and a holding pawl (11) which is released by swivelling, is fitted to one of them. This holds the slide bearing and the connected shank section in a spread position and the tensioning device in a tensioned position.
