Adhesive bond unsticking unit for rotor blade casing - uses hand held hot air blower to heat and loosen adhesive layer holding plastics liner

The unit is for unsticking an adhesive bond esp. between a rotor blade made from fibre-reinforced plastic and a protective casing (4, 5, 6) for the blade lip comprises a hot air blower (13) used to heat the adhesive layer which is rendered ineffective so that the casing can be removed. Wedges can be used to lift the bottom edge of the casing sections as they loosen. The rotor blade is held in a suitably shaped holder having a flexible protective lining made e.g. from foam plastic. The blower is typically hand held so that it can be directed at will to the desired points.
