The hollow roof tile made of transparent plastics material has a surface made up of rows of convex protuberances which act as lenses to concentrate the heat of the sun onto water underneath for conversion into useful energy. Each tile is made of a size giving four rows of eight lenses, and the hollow interior can be filled with water. Connections are then incorporated for supply and discharge of the water which can be circulated around a suitable circuit.
