Aq. compsn. for electrophoretic deposition of mica - contains emulsified soln. of silicone resin and nonyl-phenol polyglycol ether emulsifier

A compsn. for the electrophoretic deposition of mica on electrically conducting articles consists of (a) a soln. of methyl phenyl silicone resin, in a mixt. of xylene and cyclohexane, emulsified in (b) a soln. of nonylphenol polyglycol ether in distilled water, mixed with (c) a suspension of finely divided mica in distilled water. The compsn. is easy to prepare and physiologically accetable, and can be stored for some months without sepn. The coating dries in air to a non-tacky surface, and hardens on heating to bubble-free layer with good electrical and mechanical strength.
