Bonded wood dust-burning furnace - eliminates gaseous toxic components by direct combustion without scrubbing of flue gases

The firing plant is used for non-toxic firing of bonding agent containing dust generated by wood grinding. This dust is generated on grinding the surfaces of the composite wood chip panels during their manufacturing process. The toxic components in the combustion gases such as formaldehyde and phenol are completely eliminated by combustion and no additional gas scrubbers are needed. The toxic gases are burnt directly at the location where they are formed in the process. The necessary combustion chamber temperature for ensuring elimination of toxic components can be selected independently of the heat demands of the downstream connected thermal processes such as drying of the wood chip used in the manufacture. An air preheater is arranged upstream of the combustion chamber so that the combustion air is preheated by the combustion gases and the flue gases are cooled by combustion air.
