In the processing of precision objects, the control method provides control of the end point of various operational stages which have especially narrow tolerances for their nominal value. It relies on the simultaneous or serial indication of the actual measured value, with an optical indication of the result, of electronically comparing the actual value with a stored value of the tolerance limits. The precision object to be examined is brought to a measuring station and the desired parameters measured by means of mechanical probes. The measurements are transmitted electrically to a central location and compared with stored nominal values. Subsequently a GO/NO GO indication is given at the measuring station. A continuous record of the test resulsts may be made with a pen recorder.
