The arrangement for detection and identification of a helicopter utilises characteristic emission of energy in visible and thermal radiation range and in sound wave range. The system has data storing fire director computer and aiming and observation instrument. The detection sensor (8) senses the heat of the helicopter. An identifying sensor (11) senses the thermal radiation modified by the rotation of the rotor. The helicopter position on horizon is sensed by an horizon sensor (14). The azimuth and elevation senses are fed into the fire control computer automatically. The firearm, aiming system and observation instrument are moved to aiming position.
