The container (1) consists of material which is partly permeable to high frequency waves, and is preferably intended for heating food in micro-wave ovens. On the inside lining of the container is a layer (2) made of material which is highly resistant to high temps. next to the cavity containing the food. This lining (2) is on top of an insulating layer (3) forming the outside of the container, and made of material with low thermal conductivity. The lining layer (2) is of chinaware, and the outer insulating layer (3) of plastic. The container has grips (4) at the top, and a base ring (5) underneath. The insulating layer (3) may overlap the inner lining (2).
