The simple bearing arrangement for two members with one swinging about a pivot point on the other, is suitable for light articles, such as toys, and can be used for a pair of kitchen scales with a weighing platform carried on an upright attached to a vetical support (10) by two arms (12) forming a parallelogram linkage. Instead of using wires etc. as hinge pins, the two members are shaped to move one inside the other. The outer member can be a U-shaped sheet, with holes (24) punched through its flanges (18). These act as seatings for pointed protuberances (26) projecting from the flanges of the inner U shaped member (12), acting as pivots. Alternatively, the inner member may have the punched holes, and the outer member the protuberances.
