The permanent magnet (4) is slidably mounted between the shanks of the tripping magnetic circuit under control of a set screw (7). In the permanent magnet filled flux is mounted an excitation coil, the flux incorporating a flap armature. The permanent magnet is mounted between the set screw and a carrier (8) on the same. Preferably the carrier is a U-shaped stirrup, whose one shank (10) has a recess held in an annular groove (11) of the set screw. The latter may move in a thread (9) of the tripping device assembly housing, and both the set screw and carrier are typically of magnetically non-conductive material.
