A simple master switch for an anti-theft car alarm has the switch (6) linked to the door lock by a spring loaded cable (5). The alarm is silenced only by proper operation of the door lock. The cable operates a spring loaded reel with a cam moving between two integral switches. Only the correct amount of cable movement inhibits the alarm. Any tampering with the cable sets off the alarm. The cable link allows the switch to be mounted in any suitable site, even inside the door.
