Alignment and mounting of optical lens bodies - uses slotted end of cylindrical lens retained by resilient support ring

The lens bodies (3) have on their periphery diagonally opposite catches (4, 5) which brace the lens bodies against a peripheral line (7) at right angles to the optical axis of the bodies. The lens bodies have a slot between the catches and extending beyond the catches. This slot has a width at least equal to twice the height of the catches. The lens bodies have in their rear part abutments (9) for receiving an elastic ring (10) placed on the lens bodies and guided between the abutments and catches. The min. thickness of the ring is determined by the effective axial spacing between the abutments and the side of the support plate (1) facing the catches, less the plate thickness.
