The counterflow-type blood washing process in centrifuges uses a washing receptacle (1) made of chemically and biologically inert material. The inlet pipes (2, 3) are arranged at the top of the receptacle. The main supply pipe (3) is positioned centrally to the rotational axis. The two pipes (2) connect to the receptacle radially on the perimeter of the receptacle at end points (4, 5). The outlet (6) is arranged centrally at the bottom of the receptacle. The design achieves a uniform blood cell distribution during the washing process.
